Competencies of HJPCBiH
The competencies of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) are defined by the Law on the HJPC BiH and includes, among other things:
• Appointment of judicial office holders at all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina and disciplinary liability of judges and prosecutors,
• Professional training of judges and prosecutors,
• Proposing annual budgets for courts and prosecutor’s offices,
• Judicial administration and oversight,
• Coordination and supervision of the use of information technology in courts and prosecutor’s offices,
• Providing opinions on draft laws, regulations, and important issues that may affect the judiciary, and
• Initiating the adoption of laws and other regulations in areas important for the judiciary.
