    Milan Tegeltija was born on 16 October 1971 in Pančevo. He graduated from the Law School of the University of Banja Luka in 1995, where he also passed the bar exam in 1997. 

    After completion of internship in 1997, he started his own law practice. In the period 1998 to 2001, he served as judge of the Banja Luka Military Court, and then from 2001 onwards, as Advisor to the Ombudsman of Republika Srpska. In March 2004, he was appointed as a prosecutor in the District Prosecutor’s Office Banja Luka. 

    The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) appointed Mr. Tegeltija as President of the Banja Luka Basic Court in March 2007. 

    On behalf of district courts, the High Commercial Court of Banja Luka, basic courts and district commercial courts of Republika Srpska, he was elected as member of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2014. 

    Mr. Tegeltija is former President of the Association of Judges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also a longtime trainer of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centre of Republika Srpska and of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centre of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    Judges of district courts, the High Commercial Court of Banja Luka, basic courts and district commercial courts of Republika Srpska, have put trust in Mr. Tegeltija and elected him as member of the HJPC BiH again in June 2018.
