    Event Announcement - Workshop on Processing War Crime Cases in the Courts

    (Sarajevo 22 April 2019) – A one-day workshop – Processing War Crime Cases in the Courts, will be held on 23 April 2019, beginning at 9:45h at the Mostar Hotel in Mostar. The workshop is organised by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) within the Project – Building and Effective and Citizen-Friendly Judiciary, financed by the European Union through IPA 2017.   

    Judges and prosecutors who preside over war crime cases will present various trends regarding the processing of war crime cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Discussion will focus on managing procedures involving complex war crime cases as well as on protected witnesses in war crime cases.  

    Ružica Jukić, Vice-president of the HJPC BiH and Dragomir Vukoje, Judge of the Court of BiH and member of the HJPC BiH will open the workshop, while presentations will be given by Minka Kreho, Judge of the Court of BiH and Munib Halilović, Prosecutor of the Federal Prosecutors Office of FBiH. The workshop is primarily for judges and prosecutors of judicial institutions that have jurisdiction over war crimes.   

    The Project – Building and Effective and Citizen-Friendly Judiciary is funded by the European Union with 5.95 million Euro covering the period 2018–2021, and represents part of the broader support provided by the European Union to the judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
